WIND, SOLAR, HYDROGEN, HYDROPOWER
By completing the program in renewable energy engineering at ENSEM you will acquire scientific and technical knowledge on various forms of renewable energy
More specifically, you will have the opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge in :
renewable energies, electrical and mechanical energy storage, control, smart and micro energy grids, forecasting and optimization of energy systems.
Your training will be very hands-on and you’ll have access to specialized equipment :
fuel cells, solar panels, wind turbines, hydropower turbines, Grid Converters for Photovoltaic and Wind Power Systems, Multiphase electric machines,
micro-grid integrated into our campus, IoT simulator and sensor platforms (LoRa).
This 30 ECTS program is offered if a minimum of 5 students are enrolled.

• Energy management in microgrids
• Smart grid modeling and co-simulation
OPTIMIZATION 80H - 6ECTS :
• Optimal design of a local energy network
• Optimization of a heat network
• Control and optimization of energy systems
LANGUAGE, COMMUNICATION AND CULTURE 80H - 6ECTS :
• French language and culture
• Cross-cultural communication
• Energy economics: issues related to renewable energies

Exchange students are welcome to take courses from our Energy and Digital Systems Engineering degree programs, offered in both fall and spring semesters.
Language Requirements:
• Recommended level in French: B1 minimum (no official certificate required – a letter from a language teacher is accepted)
• French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses are offered to support non-native speakers
Adaptations for English-Speaking Students:
We strive to make courses accessible for all. Options may include:
• Course materials provided in English
• Reports, assignments, and exams accepted in English
• Group projects and applied learning to facilitate understanding
Academic Calendar Notes:
ENSEM is a 3-year graduate engineering program.
• 1st Year : Semesters 5 & 6
• 2nd Year : semesters 7 & 8
• 3rd Year : semesters 9 & 10
• Fall Semesters:
S5 & S7 : Early September to mid-January
S9 : Early September to mid-February
• Spring semesters:
Semesters 6 and 8 mid January to mid June
Important:
You cannot combine courses from different semesters.
You must choose either the Energy or Digital Systems track – mixing is not allowed.

Research
Projects
Supervised in English in the Fall or spring semester
In both fall and spring semesters, you may replace certain courses with an individual or group project (up to 25 ECTS). Projects are supervised in English and tailored to your area of interest.
